OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea --
The Osan Air Force Sergeants Association chapter and VFW Post 10216 sponsored National Prisoner of War and Missing in Action week here Sept. 16 -19. There were events and demonstrations, to include reveille and retreat, informational booths, a candle light vigil and a 24-bour run. The week's events concluded with the POWIM1A Remembrance and Memorial Dedication Ceremony Sept 19.

Post 10216 POW/MIA Chairman was Tom Bergam and Department of Pacific Commander Shawn Watson was the guest speaker for the POW/MIA Ceremony on 19 Sept. Doc Higgins led the POW/MIA 24-hour run for the 3rd consecutive year and many VFW members participated in events throughout the week.

The celebration was to honor the sacrifices of unaccounted-for comrades in-arms and the zeal of the families who are unsure of their status.
